Since we have such little full discussion in the GD, I decided to create a main base, hoping some of you may follow! Yay's!
Ok, for the past few months I have been thinking about the reasons why people like us, who are interested in animation and manga's, all those other things, are truely interested in them. Why would we love so much a cartoon, a drawing, put to movement, and yet we don't adore such cartoons within out own country, or at least not most of them? It seems kind of odd, doesn't it.
Other than the fact that it's from another area (As in actuality Disney stores are quite common there, go figure) we seem to adore the artwork and clarity behind the animation and comic book process.
For me, it's odd, and you all may find me weird, but for the sake of argument I am willing to come out and write this all down. I enjoy animation and manga because it puts you in a while different world. I have become bored with this world I am living in, which consists of me waking, eating, going out to class and/or shopping, coming home, eat, sit on the computer, eat, computer, bed. Add in hanging out with friends or other such anywhere on that list. But when I watch these children on these animations, having these powers, going to different worlds, experiencing something I know I can never do without the use of dreams and imagination, I become vexed into it. I begin to wish that my life was just a little more exciting, a little more adventurous.
As with love manga's, whether it be between a female and male, two males, two females, what ever, I become tangled in the issues that come with it, although you know at any point they could escape. I feel the need to laugh at the stupid antics in which I would know the solution, the stupid decisions made.
The whole other thing is the movements of the characters. The randomization, movements no real human could do, actions that would make you seem the need to go into a ward intstead of a school. Even right down to the chibi's. I focus all attention on their little quirks, and are able to rub my fingers against the page and wish, for just a moment, my reality was more like the fantasy I am experiencing within the paperback.
So perhaps I am odd, perhaps all of you are smiling and pointing at the computer. My current family points at me and scoffs me for my tons of books (a little over 300) and my need to download all the series that I hear about, but to me, this is my reality away from reality. I feel sometimes that it may just be my escape, for when I am troubled or bored, that without it I just may end up like everyone else out there. A little too much? Perhaps.
Discuss:
Why you enjoy manga or animation of the sort?
What got you into it?
Collection?
Why you stay and stick with those manga's and animation?
