Kim and I have been shaving each other legs for the past several years now and I thought it would be good to talk about the subject.
So the question is how did you all learn to shave and what made you want to shave in the first place? Also have you had any good or bad experiances? Techniques you would like to share?
Myself I started to shave because someone teased me about how long my hairs were when I was wearing shorts. This upset me very much so I started to shave. The first time I cut the entire length of my shin and it took several bandages to stop the bleeding. I just sat in the washroom crying. I found I'm allergic to alot of chemicals so I can't us nair or anything like that. Waxing did nothing so I just have to shave. I've shaved ever bit of my body aside from my head.
So what about the rest of you. What are your stories?
Jaa ne
Kat

I learned by myself and I started because I was ashamed of myself and I didn't dare to show my legs when we were changing clothes for sport classes in school (still waited until university and having my driving licence to buy what I needed though).
No techniques to share, I'm still have some doubts about if I do it the right way. And I need so much time too >.< (about 1 hour redface )

Such fun threads. xD;;
I first started shaving around, oh... maybeh 6th grade. I was just like *Picks up razor, attempts to shave* xD
I have to shave my legs around twice a week, maybe more. I usually don't shave two days in a row, 'cause it gives me bad razor burn, and my leg hair doesn't grow that effing fast! >.< I also stop shaving during the winter months, when I don't wear shorts. Heh.
I've tried Nair stuff, but I had a bad reaction to it; my legs itched and burned. Stupid sensitive skin. v.v
I shave my armpits, too. ^.^;; I do that usually once a week. I don't wear tank tops or anything.

I do not like body hair, so I shave every where except my head. I learned myself. I have only cut myself on purpose, and I need to quit that, but I don't know if I can. But I would like to get my legs waxed, but I don't know where to go or how much it costs.

i don't shave my legs or my armpits.
i think there's a double-standard in society that puts a lot of pressure on women to shave, but not men. it's a little sexist, so i protest it in my own way by not shaving. i'm surprised my girlfriend doesn't think i'm gross.

terrorize! i don't shave my legs or my armpits. i think there's a double-standard in society that puts a lot of pressure on women to shave, but not men. it's a little sexist, so i protest it in my own way by not shaving. i'm surprised my girlfriend doesn't think i'm gross. My wife and I only shave when we feel like it because we like the smooth feeling and not because of society. I actually found out that most women who shave their crotch do it for themselves and just like the feel. I even know many men who do the same now. So out here it would seem that it is nolonger a something imposed by society as much as just feels good, like men shaving their faces. *shrugs* Guess that is what happens when you live in a large gay city where going topless is legal. O.o *nods* A woman was jogging on a very hot day so took off her sports bra and was arrested. She attacked back by saying it was discrimination for women to have to wear a top during this kind of heat while men can walk around topless all they want. The province agreed so it is now legal to go around topless if you like. I see it alot during Pride more then anything else. It is rather interesting. jaa ne Kat

I liked my sideburns and my little mustache, but people kept nagging me, so last week I shaved for the first time. As luck would have it, I cut myself. Ten times. Ten seperate, different, painful times. I didn't need to go to the ER, but I was very woozy for a day. >< I always have the worst luck. Next time no razor! -flail-

That would never happen around here, partially 'cause it's so effing conservative around here. I hate Christians. >.< (And I don't want anyone to take that offensively. I'm Christian. I just hate most Christians. Like... the really psycho ones.)

I have periods where I shave and then I dont for awhile.
Legs: I self taught and shaved my legs starting around 12 years old. I stopped around 18-19 and did it maybe once every 6 months after that. I think between the ages of 22-26 I didnt shave my legs at all. Right now I shave every so often.
armpits: been shaving those since I started getting hair there. I've let it grow out before somewhat but my hair isnt thick there (hell even the guys in our family dont have alot of pit hair).
downstairs: I didnt shave at all down there during my teen years. I tested out shaving once or twice when I was with my ex girlfriend (which was 5-7 years ago)..at the time I didnt like it (itchiness was really bad). I beginning shaving for good down there about 8 months ago. I got an electric razor and now when I shave its not itchy at all (except occassionally). I like being smooth down there, it feels nice. 3nodding I dont think i will ever go back to having a bush. gonk

I usually only shave my legs when I know they will be exposed in public which is only once every 5 years or so OR I shave when it becomes uncomfortable just to walk in pants this is around once a week or when time permits.
I feel pretty uncomfortable having my girlfriend go down on me if I haven't shaved my v****a within at least the last i'd say 5 to 6 days but oddly it doesn't bother me at all if she hasn't shaved in a while *shrug* Armpitts must be decent looking on a daily basis *nod nod*
Started shaving I guess around 11, I should have known better! I love buzzin my dogs hair off though, thats all sorts of fun!

I started shaving when I was eleven, just because I was wearing jeans with big rips in the knees and one of my friends said, "Ooh, look, it's a hairy knee." xD I haven't shaved in like. . .since about early December, but it doesn't really bother me. [x

I wax my legs in the summer time or when need be, shaving takes up too much time and bores me crazy. Also, wax thinnens the hair over time, while shaving does the opposite.
I shave my armpits though. Twice a week maybe, all year round.
Downstairs I tried waxing once. It bled. And hurt like hell. (That's the only time I've ever cut myself while shaving, I'm amazed so many of you have!!) It lasted though...
