one of my all time favorite movies. Bela Lugosi is the man.

Bela Lugosi makes Chuck Norris look like a school girl.

...anyhow, it came on AMC last night, and it had music set to it. i remember when i was in high school, senior english class, for some reason we watched it... all the other kids were like "it needs music instead of all this silence." i thought the silence added suspense, and was a nice change to todays movies that have music constantly. anyhow, this version had music set to it, string mostly, and i thought it took away from the movie, and was distracting, maybe if it wasn't as loud as it was... i dunno.... i'm sure it was added a long time ago, and just isn't in every version(thankfully).

... in conclusion, keep the music out of my dracula....

thank you.

p.s. i have to learn how to walk through cobwebs without breaking or disturbing them.

Oooh Dracula. I love that film. Classic horror is the best horror if you ask me.
Back when hollywood and movie makers understood how to scare us without all the blood and gore. blaugh
Very few horror films now get that. There've been a couple recently that used the old formula. Candyman for one, the original. I know, I know, loads of blood and gore in that one BUT watch it again and you'll realise that you never actually see the Candyman kill anyone...you just hear him ripping them up. That's far more scary than seeing it.

I wish more movies would leave stuff like that to the imagination. Event Horizon is another modern one that paid tribute to the oldies.

Woops. Classic horror/SciFi films and B-movies - an obsession of mine. blaugh

i wouldn't call it an actual obsession of mine, cause i haven't watched enough, enough .. that is, i've seen lots of em, but not in a long time, and not multiple times, to really consider it an actual obsession, tho i'm certain it could easily become one now that i have cable, and with the deals you can find on dollar dvds these days hehe... if we're not careful we might have to make this a sticky in HGG&VWs lol.

I like some of the older Dracula movies, course ive not seen the classics you refer too.

As for vampires, I tend to avoid most vampire movies now, I will stick ot the few I have that are still tasteful and not hollywood screw ups.
