Here's some basic information about the cards, for your reference:

Basics
  • Each card is made of card stock, fairly heavy paper- like a tarot card, or maybe two sheets of poster board glued together.

  • The cards are about 5 inches tall by 3 inches wide.

  • All of the cards are printed in sepia tones (shades of yellow and brown), with very little actual color.

  • When first summoned, the card entity can range from small enough to fit in your pocket to the size of a small cat. Their features are usually childlike, or 'chibified.' As the card increases in level with it's Captor, it can use stronger forms- bigger, more adult/mature, more dangerous, etc. For example, at level 1 Lou can achieve adult human size and shape on a regular basis, as well as more intimidating forms...much to everyone's dismay.

  • The cards cannot be destroyed by any normal means- so you can get them wet, set them on fire, spill ink on them, etc. and they'll be fine. Seiji's magic is stronger than normal mishaps, and even the powers of other cards.

  • Each card has a basic elemental type [NOT it's subtype]. This type is where their true nature rests. If the subtype matches the basic type, the card is MUCH more powerful than other cards of the same nature- which is why you won't see those being given out often. All of Seiji's original cards are 'pure cards' like this. The basic types of each card are as follows:
    • The Order: Metal
    • The Chaos: Air
    • The Blaze: Fire
    • The Flow: Water

  • Costume cards don't have to have an elemental subtype- because their magic is a little different, they have much more variety with type and most even have little added abilities that go with their costumes- such as The White Rabbit's tiny bit of influence over time. This does NOT mean they don't have the abilities of their lineart, it just makes them different.

The Subtypes used by Seiji when he created the cards (mostly) follow the Chinese elements- Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water. Seiji, being influenced by Eastern and Western magic, felt it was unbalanced without wind- so Earth has been replaced by Air.

Overcoming

* wood parts air;
* air absorbs water;
* water quenches fire;
* fire melts metal and
* metal chops wood.
