Have any of you read the books by Julie Anne Peters? She wrote four, Far from Xanadu, Keeping you a Secret, Luna and Define "normal" . Far from Xanadu and Keeping you a Secret are both lesbian stories. Luna is about a girl and how her brother wants to become a girl and Define "normal" is about this girl who becomes friends with a punk girl. Julie's books are really good I think you guys should read them. I love her books so much!!

I read "Define Normal". I thought it was really good. Finally a story where it isn't the basic girl meets boy storyline. I'm sorry, but those just make me gag. Too many of the same stories, if you know what I'm saying.

I got "Keeping you a secret" from my library. Surprisingly good for a young adult book.

I've read "Define Normal" and "Luna: A Novel".

I based a speech team piece (prose and poetry) off of Luna. My theme was more on split personalities though. It was very encouraging to have more than a few people (adults included) who came up to me and said they loved the book and were glad to see it used. Actually, I took that piece to States. wink

I read Far from Xanadu, but I didn't think it was spectacular. It wasn't bad, though.

My Kit-Kat's been begging me to read her, so far I've only read Define "Normal", it seems like a pretty typical grade school book. But I've heard good things about Keeping You A Secret and and Between Mom & Jo.

I'm doing a school project on Define Normal. We are posed to create a poster using various propoganda types. This is what my language arts teacher comes up with to replace the traditional poetry unit. From what I can tell, he hates poetry.

I love Julie Ann Peters' books. Keeping you a Secret (the first lesbian book I bought) is one of my favorites. My other favorite book of her's is Between Mom and Jo. I love the title of Define 'Normal'.

Define normal was the first book I read that she wrote. One day I was walking through the library and WHAM there was a whole shelf with her books.
Needless to say I got a strange look from my dad when I met him at checkout with a basket full of books.

Luna is probably my favorite though Keeping you a Secret comes pretty close.

I can't wait to read 'grl2grl:short fictions'. It's supposed to come out this fall.

For those who are interested here is a link to a page of her site that has the titles of her books, summaries, and excerpts.
