I recently heard through one of my friends that there is new holes in the O-Zone layer in one of the poles. Is that information true?

Purplepiratelynn source, there could be. Whatever happened to the old one??? At first everyone was like UhNo holes in the sphere we're all gonna die, but then it just went away media-wise. Just like the bird flu yeahh, but the media can only talk about something for so long, until the public gets bored of the story. Its a hole in the O-zone layer, there's really no interesting way to re-write an article that catches the public's eyes each time.

Ummmmmmmm ozone layer and global warming are two entirely different things.
But anywho. Yes, there was a really big hole in the ozone layer, and a MASSIVE chunk of Antarctica just fell off. But then we got scared, started changing some ways, and now it's a little better. Aaaaaaaaaaand I think there's one over Australia right now...Don't remember. sweatdrop Anywho...It's entirely possible that we created another one, but it probably is not as big as the last one since we've changed some things...

The one over Australia is what made people realize that there was a hole.
Thats an oooold hole.
And holes in the Ozone layers does tie with global warming. With out them layers to sheild the planet from the sun's harmful rays, things get hotter.

Just like the bird flu that hole actually began to heal after CFCs were banned, so people didn;t much need to worry about it anymore

Lulianii greenhouse gasses people! Burning our fossil fuels is deteriorating our ozone! Burning fossil fuels and holes in the ozone are ENTIRELY separate issues. Destruction of the ozone is due to CFCs.

I'm not sure what they use now though for spray cans. o.o
