Every vendor is different. They have their own styles and techniques. I'll try and receive quotes from vendors if they want to add their own 2cents into this guide :3

To being, you must understand what vending is. Vending is simply buying an item low, and selling it for a higher price [or profit], there's just no easier way to put that. If you've no gold by which to begin vending, play games and post for gold. The ideal starting amount is any where from 2k-5k for a beginner. After you've recovered this much, start vending tickets. They sell easy and arn't expensive.
Once you reach about 10k you should start looking at vending commons.
Around 20k you should start with Monthly Collectables [MC's formally known as DI's]
Now you should be making a fair amount of gold each day, but you should know more about the items you are vending. The Next few posts describe good and bad items to vend. :3

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Exchanging
The world of exchanging is not that different from that of Vending. You constantly have to deal with n00bs though. When Exchanging, you try and get items for less then the vend prices, and the just like vending, you resell for profit.
An easy way to make profit in the Exchange is to catch a nicely valued item in the vend for cheap, and then use it to exchange with. ;3
Exchanging is veiwed as more profitable, mainly because you've access to more '04s and '03s. In the exchange you may notice people say "no all pure offers," this is simply because they will down value your items, which they can't do to gold.
In exchanging you need more pacience because the next buyer may just not be there yet :3

For those of you who are reading this and going "what on earth IS the exchange" : The Exchange
::still finishing the exchange portion::

*Prices are not given for they are not certain every day.*

*Don't use Tektek prices!!! Always check the market's prices.

All large items may usualy take longer to sell :3

There are many items that some vendors perfer over others, whether it be the frequecy of the items or the value, every vendor has a preference.

Tickets should be bought at about < 1.5g each for a decent profit :3

Here is a small list of what i find to be fairly good sellers. [in no real order]
MC's:
Gwees
Shadow Spirits
Pixies
Mythrill Armors
Gift of the Goddess'
Pandy Packs
Angelbows
Dark Halos
Were Tails - may often take a bit longer than some like
Microphones
Katanas
Winter roses
G Blades
Bone Dragon Helms
Snow Yeti
Coco kitty's
Orly's
Ufo's

Commons:
Pimpin' Hats
Complex shirts
Face Veil - Tech. Giftbox items :3

Mind block, add more later. :3
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bad Items:
MC's:
Parasol's
Laptops
G-Bots
Sun Staff's
Roro's
Solar & Lunar Items
Wind Security Blankets
B&M Pajamas
Gauntlets
BTK's
Zony's
Guitar's

Commons:
G-LOL Gowns

Mind Block, will add more later.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Uncommons/rares
These would be items retrieved by Giftbox and are no longer available in the store :3
Such as:
#000000 Complex Jacket - Usually slow seller but you may get lucky and sell over night :3
Black punk band - Are nice, but risky sellers. People undercut often.
Black Bow Tie [BBT] - Yeah..doubt you'll have one of these rofl
Olympic Shirts - These are slow sellers, but if you can, try and get about 4k off the vend price so you actually get a profit 'fast' by selling 2k under :3

I'm sure there's more..but like the other posts, Mind Block, will ad more later.

Event Items:

Now many vendors choose to stay away from the event items. This is where you can etheir take their lead or take advantage of them not going for them. :3

The good Event Items are few but they sell well if you get your hands on them:

Christmas
Spirited '04 - the whole set - Scarves and Gloves being the best
Holly Jolly '05 - The Poinsettia Earmuffs are a nice item to go with. The Snowman Marshmallows are excelent as well :3
Spirited '06 - The Scarves are good sellers. The Hats are also good items to go with.
For more information on Past Christmas Event Items: Cl!ck

Halloween
The Halloween items aren't usually good sellers during the non-october months, but some items attract attention: [Halloween Items can take a very long time to sell and are not recomended to spend all your money on them unless it's a great deal]
The '03 Items..I'll need help on these since I myself have never dealt with them.
The Labcoats of '04 are better items to keep than to sell; their prices are never certain making them unpredictable sellers.
Grunny Slippers are nice items throughout the year since they don't lean all the way towards Halloween and match many outfits making them well sellers.
Really Jacked Up - The Capes are known to sell in a few days but are not recomended. Stay Away from the Jack-et's for they almost never sell on the first day...or week..or two weeks.. ;<< The boots are nice but the Cape is the best choice.
Jack Uniform - These items don't bring in much, if any gold, so you should just aviod them.
Jack'd '06 - These are the same as the '05's but are known better for bringing in gold. The Sweaters a desent sellers along with the Cape and Hat.
For More information on Past Halloween Event Items: Cl!ck

Easter
Easter Items are veiwed by some as the worst of the event items, not nessicarly because of the little gold they bring in, but just because of how they look:
'03 - Yeah, chances are that most of you will never deal with these pricist of Event Items, but if by some chance you do, well i've only one warning. Don't open the easter egg! There's a chance of getting a Pink Giftbox oO;;
'04 - These Hat's (Bunny & Chickie) Are excellent sellers at Easter Time because they are cute and many Gaians want them. They're good items to vend with. :3
'05 - These Masks aren't the best to vend with, but they do sell and for a bit of gold, so if you can get a good price than there's a descent profit coming your way.
'06 - Unless you buy the ties for 100g or so, stay away from the measly profit. The Bunny Ears are where the Gold's at. They're nice items to vend going for 4k at normal and of course this rises at Easter time :3
'07 - These are cute chicky plushies :3 They all sell well! and their eggs are hard to get making them worth a little more. The Cubbi chicky's sell best, and the cutie chikies are good too. :3
For more information on Past Easter Event Items: Cl!ck

St. Patty's Day
Well, first off, I was shocked that there was even a St. Patrick's Day event.
There is no real data to go off of for these except for current prices:
'06 - If you are deciding to Hoard, don't go for the lucky 4-leaf clovers, Only get the pins and the Floppy Clovers. The Floppy Clovers are the only vending-ish items of the set that actually bring in any gold since the average pin sells for 50g.

Gaiaversary Items
Well, I'm to lazy at the moment considering the time i stoped making this guide...and the fact of how many hours ago that was xD

According to the Admins, there will be several new event this year! So I will update accordingly whenever a new event arises :3

Misprices

Now mispirces are items that are missing a digit or are sold really underprice by a Gaian who ethier simply doesn't know how much said item costs, forgets a digit but confirms anyways, is looking for a really quick sell on a hard to sell item.
Now, misprices aren't always on the vend when you go there. And the ones that are are picked up in a mater of secs, not very long time to recognize them which is why you must firmilirize yourself with the vend and know the prices well each new day for they could have changed :3
Misprices can be quite devasting to a new vend, or any vendor for that matter. To prevent a misprice, ALWAYS check the confirmation screen. This will save you a big set back.
Some ways to prevent a misprice is to count out the number of time's you've hit the keys as you are hitting them. Make sure you've the correct number, and confirm.

Now you may be saying "I can't type my password fast enough to catch a misprice", but this is easily fixed. Copy your password, and then use the Ctl + V function on your keyboard, aka: Paste. So as soon as you see that good deal you click the coifirming box, click two keys and strike confirm as fast as you can. Viola, a new item for you to sell :3

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Marketplace Glitches
There are several market place glitches but the most common and worryed about amongst newbies is the expire freezeing glitch. Basically, Your item has expired already, but you've not recieved a PM saying so, and it doesn't come off your store. There is nothing you can do, nor that you should worry about, besides letting it sit. It should come down in a few minutes or by the next day :3
The most feared yet not often occuring glitch, is the dissapearing act glitch; you sold your item, but neither you, nor the buyer get the item, or the gold gonk There is nothing you can do here, though i've heard that sometimes the items find there way to you. Now don't worry, this won't happen everyother time you put an item up. It is very rare. Lets' hope it stays that way :3

**Warining** There is a scam going around, where a usuer claims to have bought your item, but never recieved it. If the item is in you store, it never sold. Ask them to see a vendlog. This will say wether they truly have or not :3
If any new glitches occur, or i forgot one, please notify me so that I may post it here :3

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Common Scams
There are many scams out there, people trying to get your passwords and such, but these are most common and most un-original.
Gift System scam; A person will PM you asking to trade his/her/it's item, but it will be wrapped. Never except a trade with a wrapped item. There's no way of knowing if it's the right item.
Mod Scam; This is the most annoying scam out there. Idiots PM you saying they're mods and that you have commited crap and will be banned if you don't give your password and such. A mod will NEVER ask for your password and you should NEVER give it out to someone you don't trust. Just about every mod/mod helper do NOT have some version of mod in their name.

Always double check trades to make sure nothing changed. If you are dealing with sealed letters, make sure they're the right ones by hovering over them to read them. Make sure that you check the digits in the gold trade. They may skip a number or take off a 0.

Towns
Now, last summer, towns was a very profitable place. The ink the bugs produced sold high as did the trash. However, the admins ruined this gold mine by adding the Daily Chance D:

Edit : Aside from vending Tickets, Ink is now [since It's FINALLY worth something again..] a good item to vend :3

Inks' common values are not completly set, so it may be best if you set to bid for maximum profit :3

Towns whoring can still be semi-profitable to newbies. The vast amounts you can collect in one day bring in money. And if you're no good at fishing then you can find Tin Cans and Old Boots in towns which sell good in the vend at high amounts :3 Crumpled Paper bags are great to go for as well. Never exclude any items when you go to Towns for all items are worth gold.
Try and choose a random spot far off and not near corners. This way there's a better chance that no one has been there already maximizing the amounts you can collect.

If you do 'lil quests like me to collect things like bugs and ink and flowers, here's another helpful tip:
For more blue bug/trash/flowers, go in towns during it's night time.
For more orange bugs/trash, go in twilight hours and during the day.
For more yellow and red, go during the day and evening.
Bags/cans/and old boots are always randomly abundant.

*You can still find every version of item in towns at any point in the day, but these will more profitable.

Magical Giftboxes
It is very true what the rumors say, you can find giftbox's in Towns. I've not the luck to find one floating yet but I'm still hopeful. You can find any of the three boxes. :3

Yes, I'm actually gonna add quotes no matter what they say xd :

wilson2008
vending is like prostitution and pimping:

you want to pick up cheap hoes but then turn around and sell them for more, that way you make a profit surprised

what i'm saying is:

buy below mp and sell for mp price, which means you make profit 3nodding

i usually buy for 5k+ less than mp and then sell, I won't buy an item if its only going to make 1k or less profit, i'm a high roller b***h talk2hand

also you should add a post with qoutes from us exchanging and stuff mrgreen

you know, go to our profiles and click on view posts and just take qoutes from when we offer on items and actually get said items mrgreen

that would give some people ideas about how to exchange the right way for max profit pirate
