Black power is sometimes mistaken as something meaning that blacks are superior to whites, a racist thing. This misinterpretation comes from a misinterpretation of the word power, mainly because the term white power does mean white supremacy and stands for the racist white supremicist movement. Power is impowerment, it means equality, the white man has historically and still is more powerful then the black man, the black man must gain power in order to be equal. This is a term used widely for that purpose, hopefully this will eliminate any misunderstandings.

I still think it is racist, because it points out race as a difference. Does race matter? If you say no, then there is no difference between white power and black power. There are just people- They do not need to be empowered based on the color of their skin. I am for equality, and equality means saying "Everyone is equal" not "Black people are equal to white people", since that mentality implies an underlying difference. Simply "Everybody is equal" is sufficient.
