Lately I've been considering marrying the manga...
No, seriously. What do you think is better?
Take the following into consideration before making your decision

Art Consistency:
Story Consistency:
Character Development:
Plot Development:
Understanding:

For myself, I vote manga on all things.
I mean, seriously. In the anime Al was a p***y, Roy was an Emo and Winry didn't stick up for herself. Also, I believe the brothers should have been a little more concerned about the fact that someone who can reform was floating into the sky away from their reach (Sloth.)

I can't decide for the life of me, I love them both. Although I do think Winry's character was alot better in the manga! Roy did have his emo moments, I guess xD. Al being a p***y, well.. I guess he was a little. Well.. okay alot but I love Al anyway. blaugh heart
On the character development I vote for the manga for sure. 3nodding

Art? Manga. Anime's in color, but Arakawa-sensei is the best.

Story Consistency? Manga of course. The anime had 10 times the plotholes (the truth about the Gate came out of nowhere! and I don't see Ed doing alchemy with his foot so how can Wrath use alchemy?)

Character Development? MANGA. The anime killed all the characters. I agree with everything that Trizo said about the characters. (And what was wrong with Movie!Roy?!)

Plot? MAAANNGAAA! Definitely! The plot twists are so much better! Spoileryful example: In the anime Sloth's Ed and Al's mom, but in the manga Pride is SELIM. Selim died really pathetically in the anime. And it was so easy to tell that Sloth was Trisha, while it was a complete shock to find that Selim was really Pride! And #12 was great. EdxWin moments, the Xingese characters, Roy and Riza, the homunculi...that was a great volume.

Understanding? I understand that the manga is AWESOME.

The anime was great, I'll give you that, but when compared to the manga it just falls apart.

Although I'm glad the anime went the way it did with human transmutation = hommunculus. It was a different and unique twist.

However, the foot thing was rather random XD.
Also, the fact that Hohenheim's name is -completely- different in both series is just bizzare.

Manga = Van Hohenheim
Anime = Hohenheim Elric

Hiromu Arakawa even said herself that she wanted the manga and anime to be different. It's nice for the two to be totally different for a change, makes things more interesting.

And in the dub he was Hohenheim of Light. @__@ Why does he have so many names?!

Yeah in the original he was also Hohenheim of Light, or Hikari no Hohenheim
(Light's Hohenheim? XD)

Manga totally rocks the anime.

Art Consistency: although the anime is in color and you have voices, Arakawa-chan is the best artist I've seen my enitre life!

Story Consistency: Totally the manga. The anime had alot of other characters than it did in the manga durring the story, and that made it confusing.

Character Development: MANGA ALL THE WAY!!! Wirny had become more of a crush to Ed and visversa ((even if Ed won't say it.... ninja )), Al had become more like a person, Roy has had a taste of what it's like to lose someone ((not talking Huges, here)), and the HUmunculi have shown a little more of themselves to the brothers.

Plot Development: look above.

thus is my opinion. And what is with Pride? Why can't he just show his face?
