I've not been having much luck finding feminist groups in Australia, because I didn't know how to go about it. I just found one, and it looks great! http://www.projectrespect.org.au/They're strongly against the trafficking of women into prostitution, they're pro the Swedish model (as am I) looks like they're also interested in sex workers rights, they want to end woman blaming in the area of prostitution. I've found a group in my country whos goals and aims I agree with. I'm so pleased. I applied to join their messageboard, and hopefully I get in. I might be able to do some real activism soon. I'm... Gah, this is great. Any of you guys in any groups, having touble finding groups, or had the joy of finding a group that looks just right? If so, let us hear all about it. <3

Romania, we probably have one in the capital, but I doubt it acts country wide, and I also doubt it achieves anything.

Oh wow. I just googled about feminism in Romania, and there are all these articles coming up about how people in Romania are really prejudiced against the word 'feminist' and how feminist NGO's ae failing over there.
O.o
Doesn't seem good at all...

Yeah... unfortunately nothing is working here, especially movements against cruelty to animals or for feminism or helping drug addicts, alcoholics and homeless people... shelters aren't working... but it's no surprise seeing as the health, education and justice system is corrupt and failing miserably.
There is still quite a lot of homofobia and sexism and racism present here btw, which is just awful...

That sounds awful sad
I don't know how to measure "a lot of sexism, racism and homphobia" though. I feel there's a lot of sexism, racism and homophobia down these parts.

Well... I dunno... it's not like women are slaves and black ppl are burned on the cross, but there is descrimination everywhere... My sister is still struggling with her job and raising a kid, while her husband already is starting a busyness and barely helps with the kid, even though she works just as much if not more than him.

Oh, that "dissapointment" reply was meant to go to another thread in another guild in another tab I've got open... ignore it.
I was going to say that I've met two other girls in real life who identify as feminists. One of them is my sister, and the other is my best friend of many years.

My internet is running at slower than 56k right now (We've been shaped, so the internet company won't give us any support, and doesn't care about our latency issues or anything like that.)
Images only load sometimes, and I couldn't see the damned edit button.
I'm starting to come out as a feminist to a bunch of people I know. No-one seems to really care, some people are like 'that's cool' and some of them like to bait me... You know, say something sexist to see how I react.
I also know a self professed misogynist. He... hates women as a group, based on past experiencesd with women, and blames feminism for 'why women are so bad.'
The odd thing is. He calls women bitches, like all the time. Makes all these sexist jokes etc. but if you get him on some other topic... he's... a really nice guy...

i've not really asked him what he thinks of other races, but if he was racist, it wouldn't surprise me.
