Hello, people of Mush (hehe). I am a new player and my character is currently lv 13.

I'm looking for advice on what class to go. I was originally planning to go down the assist path, but I've read that healer abuse is common in this game too.

What class is in demand, other than assist? Or should I just go with assist?

Can a healing oriented still solo somewhat?

Is anyone in a decent guild that is willing to take me in?

Thanks to any contributing replies.

Edit:
Sorry to bump up the total posts to 3, but only 2 posts makes it look like nobody's on Mush.

Welcome to Mushie! You made the right choice. whee

Healer abuse is very common on all servers. But you always got nice people who're not so bad.

I love Knights (Mercenary) so I recommend going STR Knight. They solo pretty well.

No, a healing orientated is almost completely dependant on other players.

I'm between guilds right now so no, I don't know any, sorry.

I'm trying to make a guild on Mushpoie, but I seem to get sucked into my friends' guilds XD

I personally enjoy the acro class the most, though if you go Bow Jester I'll have to hunt you down on the PK server. Other than that I also enjoy the Magician class, though the new skill system makes them budget their points.

Aha, welcome to Mushie, drop into the thread above this one sometime.

Healing orientated? Always usually dependant on other players.
If you do pick assist, you don't necessarily have to heal; you can pick a melee route towards a BillPoster which at higher levels are in high demand due to the fact an fses buffs can't compensate for the exp they are taking up.

And I dunno about guilds, finding a good one at such a low level is pretty hard. >.<
I was guildless until about 60 and I did just fine.
All you need are good friends that are willing to help each other along the way.

Best of luck to you, need any help, pm me.

Would a Blade be closer to a rogue class? Or do acrobats use daggers too?

I like doing high damage overall, but still be able to take hits well.

I'd imagine a STR knight would do lots of damage per hit, but they'd miss a lot more than someone with a bit more DEX. If one does slightly ess damage, but doesn't miss as often, the overall damage would be higher, right?

A rogue class would be most definitely a jester.
Jester's can't tank very well, but they have awesome skills, hit quite high and are the kings and queens of pvp.

Dunno anything about merc builds, I'd be the last one to come to.

STR Knights don't miss as much as STA Knights. But you should always use SKILLS. They do awesome damage and are overall a more rounded character. Just get Accuracy and Cannonball buffs and you'll be raking in the exp.

Hm..

Blade's armor is slightly better than a jester's.

Attacking with yo-yos just seems a bit weird to me. I know they were used as weapons at one point in time, but still.

So now I'm stuck between Blade and Knight.

I thought knights would have low attacks, since most tanks in other games suck at damage, but I get the impression that it isn't the case here.

So, what's the difference between a knight who can tank and do decent damage and AOE (I'm guessing balanced combo of str/sta and some DEX?) and a blade (2 DEX - 1 STR/1 STA)?

I hear blades are overrated.

Edit:
I went Merc with blade build.

I'll decide if I will stay blade or restat to Knight when the time comes.

Still if you feel like restarting because merc isn't for you, try battle assist route.
They are strong and are made even stronger when they get to BP at 60, then MUCH stronger at 80, when they get the skill asalraalikum. (sp?) Just asal for short.
The best skill in the game which deals a good amount of damage. 25k for the bps in anarchy (my guild) I think.

Can't comment on the knight stuff though, I know less than you do. x.x

But getting there will be tough. Assist only wears light armor, right?

But I saw an assist buff me, then beat up a boss monster. That was kinda cool. Wonder if she was FS.

Let's say I had 2000 gpotatoes. What item in the cash shop would be the best to sell to make money? Sprotect scrolls? Stat resets (40 mil?)?

I would recommend getting gpros. (scrolls of GProtect) and selling them for 6mil each.
It is quick easy money and much more effective than spro selling.

I got the name mixed up.

I probably should switch over to sta knight build as a merc. I seem to be spamming food a lot while fighting monsters the same level as me, or 1 lv higher. Might as well go knight build now and save myself the trouble of resetting stats and skills later.

I've read on forums about levelling skills. How does that work? I thought it was only leveled through skill points. How would I level my skills?

And what is that orange line (bar?) that sometimes appears under my exp bar?

You get points every level. Vagrant skills are worth 1 point (don't for the love of whatever deity you worship add any points to vagrant skills). 1st Job are worth 2 points and 2nd Job are worth 3 points per level.

1st Jobs max at 20 but read a fansite about the effects. You do not need to max all your skills nor is it possible to. Think about what you need to level first.

As a Merc i recommend maxing Splmash and Keenwheel for the first tree. And maxing Smite axe and Axe Mastery in the second tree. Those are all my Knight needs from the Merc Skills.

Haha.... uh... too late, I maxed them all. *ducks*
But I am putting the rest of my points to splmash (currently lv 17) and the wheel.

I have my vagrant skills and the wheel in my action slots.

So using a skill repeatedly has no benefit?
I read something about a cash shop item that gives unlimited FP, and people were saying it's for spamming skills to level them.

Also in the newbie FAQs, I read something about AFK skill levelling by making an object repeatedly press a button to level skills.

Does this not apply anymore in the game, or is this some hidden feature not labeled in the interface?
