I'm so sick of my peers saying s**t like "I support womens' rights and all but..." But what? You don't want to be called a feminist? ******** that. Grow a spine and get over the stupid stereotypes.

I can't stand when people get pissy because people only talk about sexism against women in a thread about SEX DISCRIMINATION. Since when are men discriminated against for their sex on the same level women are? "OMG Y ARNT U INLCUDING TEH MENZ?!!1" Because men aren't the center of every issue.

hehe...ya know all the courses I've taken that discuss feminism usual emphasize that there never was any real bra burning, that it was staged by the media. Interesting stuff.

Just last night my friend who is also in the women's studies program at my school was complaining about the very same thing Ernie. In a male centered society that mentalitiy is inevitable. Start talking about something that doesn't include men and they get confused and uncomfortable. I had a guy like that in my class on Women in the Developing World. No matter what we would be talking about, he would say something totally off topic just to bring men into the conversation. One time we were talking about FGM and he starts going off about how men are oppressed in Africa too because of the heavy expectations on them. I swear the entire class rolled their eyes at that point.

LOL well as far as I know, everything related to anime... no wait, everything is at one point ***** and fetishized. Okay, I accept some of that up to a certain point, but it's just sick where it's gotten to.

And I hate it when my fellow males join a rant about feminism and women in general talking about how society treats them and go "Well it's not easy being male either ya know!", okay I agree not everything about males is great and peachy, but shut up! we're not even half as... tortured I could say as the female population.

And speaking of man-hating dykes, can u imagine how people(including women) look at me when I say I'm a feminist? XD and then I'm like "okay... anti-sexist if that's easyer to swallow"

Yeah its very true that pretty much everything is fetishized and pedaphilic...particularly anything out of Japan.

You should totally get that shirt from Feminist Majority that says "This is what a feminist looks like!" across the front. It would be a hoot. wink

Luthien, that just plain sucks! I'm sorry to hear that, it sounds like someone was being a real jerk to you. You don't deserve to be treated that way.

I really hate how women need to be protected from society. Bullshit! Women are more likely to be attacked by someone they know rather than a complete stranger. Even then, men are more likely to be the victims of violence. ******** bullshit hypocrisy!

Well, it's quite possible they aren't feminists, but instead are egalitarians... It's a far more sensible stance, that doesn't have any goal aside from equality unlike feminism which seeks to give women an unfair advantage over men.
