So I just picked this one up and despite the "Explicit Content" warning on it, I found that it wasn't all that explicit. While the smut factor of the individual sex scenes is rather low compaired to some age 16+ manga I've seen, it probably got slapped with it due to just how many there are.

While this one is essentially yet another high school angst story, it does do one thing I like... Toru (the uke of the story) isn't questioning his own sexuality. He's in love with another boy (Ryoji) and if he went through any sort of "oh no, I can't be gay" phase - it would have been long before the first page of the book. (I like Time Lag a lot for a similar reason.)

So where does the angst come from? Ryoji starts using him as a sex toy without expressing any love at all to Toru and has a girlfriend on the side on top of it. Toru doesn't like being used but has a hard time saying no.

yeah.. i have that one.. >.< i just thought the Art was so nice... Yukine Honmie's art is so beautiful... i like the mix that was in it when the Art Club President Kissed him when he was at the Observatory... ^^ i like that Toru and Ryoji ended up together after that Skirmish.. and yeah.. ur right... the "explicit Content" is all a bunch of Bull...it has nothing of the sort...its "Light Yaoi: if anything... xp xd

Andromeda3173 ~ I really wouldn't consider this one even "light yaoi." I mean sure, it's a step up from ones where the boys are just kissing but really not by that much.

I would consider Il Gatto Sul G to be far more graphic even though it is age 16+ for two reasons:
1. Kousaka is forcing himself on Riya to the point of rape multiple times in IGSG.
2. There's a scene in this one where Atsuhi put's one of his hands in Riya's pants which is drawn in much greater detail than all the love scenes in Desire put together.

That's pretty much my logic for why I consider Desire to be misraited.

My sister has this one and I thought it was pretty good.

@Sheard: When do they get to that point in Il Gatto Sul G? I don't remember it being explicit in the first volume. Or am I just forgetting something? : O

Il Gatto Sul G doesn't really get all that graphic. I just used it for the sake of comparison that Desire doesn't get any more graphic than that does... I could have just as easily picked Loveholic.

I second that one because the manga barely has anything explict in it. I like the manga to since it was my first Yaoi manga to read and buy. I was hopeing that his friend and him would be together since they make a nice couple.

I'm starting to think that DMP just has extremely narrow standards as far as to what they consider explicit and what they don't. In some ways, it probably hurts some of their manga (like Desire)... people who want manga more explicit content are not going to get it with this title. Younger readers looking to avoid that type of content might find it hard to justify asking parents to buy it with the advisory notice. >.>
