No, that's not the actual poster for the movie. Did that get your hopes up? sorry. blaugh
But there is definetily gonna be a trigun movie. The movie will be animated and it is said to be released sometime this year. But since no one has heard much of anything about it, I'm suspecting that it might be released next year.
The movie is tightly underwraps and little-to-no information has been given out on it. But be sure that it is most absolutely gonna happen. I'll keep you posted.
ANIME INSIDER (issue 44: May '07)
... The Sequel: After years of little-to-no news concerning any sequel, Madhouse founder Masao Maruyama announced in 2005 that production on a new Trigun movie had begun. A year later, he could only confirm that Satoshi Nishimura, the director of the original TV series, was working on "something involving a red coat," suggesting that he would reprise his role for the movie. However, no announcements have been made concerning whether the movie's going to be a proper sequel, a side story, an alternate ending, or another retelling of the original manga. With Nishimura not directing anything else at the moment, however, Trigun's next anime outing seems to be in the works.
