Discuss the many great bands from Michigan. Mainstream to underground. Any genre acepted.
Rules: Don't break the ToS. No getting into arguements over music genres or flame someone over what the like to listen to.

Ted Nugent.
he's the only mainstream i can think of aside from all the motown groups.
Joe Meyer is an up-and-coming country singer. he's not very well known, but he's good.

The Implodes!!!! They're small but good! They're from my hometown highschool, and they've managed to stick together over the last 5-6 years. heart

Most of the smaller venues in in the Southeast that would feature local bands have closed in the past year. Is this happening all over?

Kalamazoo has had quite a few close in the past few years. My favorite one, Club Soda, is history. The last local band I saw around here was Belfast Gin at the Kalamazoo Public Library. That's right - the library. (They were awesome btw!)

Not in the guild, but hey there Michiganders! Ella Riot, formally My Dear Disco, is a good Michigan band. They were great live.
