You've heard of J.K. Rowling, Nora Roberts, and Stephen King, J.R.R. Tolkein, and Tom Clancy. Hell, I bet you've even heard of Dan Brown. But do you recall James Patterson at all?

James Patterson is most notably responsible for the following:
~Alex Cross (Along Came a Spider, Kiss the Girls, Jack & Jill, Cat & Mouse, Pop Goes the Weasel, Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, Four Blind Mice, The Big Bad Wolf, London Bridges, Mary, Mary, Cross)
~Women's Murder Club (1st to Die, 2nd Chance, 3rd Degree, 4th of July, 5th Horseman, 6th Target)
~Maximum Ride (The Angel Experiment, School's Out Forever, Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports)
~When the Wind Blows and The Lake House (the basis for MR)
~Honeymoon (with Howard Roughan)
~Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas
~And several other books. In fact, he has about forty different book titles.

James Patterson is a genius with the thriller genre. Personally, as a teen novel, Maximum Ride was amazing. However, as James Patterson's best? Not so much.

James Patterson is AMAZING.

"The three biggest lies in the world are: All I want is a kiss, The check is in the mail, and I'm with the FBI and I'm only here to help." ~~~ from The Big Bad Wolf

With those simple yet lasting words, I will now shut up and let y'all discuss Patterson's amazingness.

Yeah, I really like his writing style. Unfortunatly, I don't see any of his books in the shops - apart from the maximum ride series. So they are the only ones I have read, but I plan to buy more of his online 3nodding

Really? You don't think their his best? Wow, I can't wait to read his others then whee

So, what do you think of the books which he writes with Michael Ledwidge? I have read some of them, they are really superb.

I don't like MR for a number of reasons. The concept behind it, though, is pretty good. This is a prime example of good concept and bad plot. The characters only keep getting perfecter and perfecter (which isn't even a word). The concept of saving the world is old enough. THE CONFLICT IS BORING AND INCREASINGLY GETS MORE AND MORE CHILDISH. The first one was passable, but it kept getting worse in the second and third book.

I understand he just wants to get children to read, which he accomplished, but it isn't his best. His talents lie in the mystery/thriller combo, and he can pass as a romance novel on a good day.
