[[OOC: The beginning of this plot takes place before Draco and Luna meet, and before Draco finds Norbert's egg. He is a young adult, having grown not too long ago (for RP backstory intents only, since he was an adult stage only pet).]]"CRAP!"
A soft rustling noise and then a swoosh. The light colored Tae, dressed in clothing jumped to his feet and darted to the south. He was late! Today was the day he was supposed to meet his uncle. He had a few lessons for him today, and Draco had overslept.
The sun was high in the sky and and burning brightly, emitting bright rays that filtered through the canopy and down to the forest floor. All the moisture from the early morning dew had long dried by now and the soft leaves on the ground made slight crunching noises as he ran. He was supposed to have been at his uncle's den by now. A lot sooner than now.
He figured he would hear about it when he got there too, but hopefully Uncle Sev would be in a good mood today. They had just started their lessons and Draco wasn't that great at them so far. He really didn't like having to wake up so early, but Sev had said something about it built character and would help him later on in life.
As he neared his mentor's den, he was panting and the clothes he wore caused him to sweat in the summer heat. Up ahead he saw the den and slowed his pace to a slow jog, and then to a walk. Panting, he announced his arrival. "Uncle Sev! Sorry... I'm...late." He paused outside the den and sat, catching his breath.

Severus's tail twitched as he waited in his den for his troublesome nephew. The boy was hardly ever on time, even though the elder Tae had told him it was good for him and built moral fiber. Why couldn't he listen? Severus, personally, got up about thirty minutes after dawn. The deep red in the sky reminded him of the fur color of his long lost love Lily, whom had been killed in a questionable and tragic accident with another Tae during a fight. It still hurt to think about her, and he wasn't intent on moving on any time soon. Shaking his head, he frowned, stepping out towards the front of his den to meet his nephew as he saw the Tae running towards him. He licked the fur of one of his paws, admiring the incredibly pale color, and pulling his sleeve down with his teeth a little before settling again.
"Draco! Can you explain WHY you felt the need to be so inexcusably late? Or were you just sleeping the day away as if you DON'T have a future to plan for!?" he almost barked, shocking even himself at how much he sounded like a canine when he was being imposing. Looking down his nose at his young nephew, he mentally sighed. The boy was now sweaty, hot, a little dirty, and tired. Great. Letting out a small, actual sigh, he shook his head, and grabbed Draco by the back of his shirt. Carrying him along as if he was a kitten again, Severus carried Draco in his mouth, taking him to the back of the den. Plopping him down in front of a basin of semi-cold water, he put his paws in it, careful not to get his clothes wet, and started straightening out Draco's hair and fur, slinging his arm over the boy and beggining to groom him as if he was a newborn kitten.
"How many times have I told you, Draco? You must be clean, calm, and collected at all times. How else will you find a Tae with equally impecable breeding? What WOULD your father say if he saw you in this state? Now....before your lessons, tell me what you've been into lately while I clean you up," he drawled, a whisper of a purr of fondness entering his voice as he ended his speech. He really did love Draco, he just usually kept it private and on the inside. Leaning over to dab his paw into the water again, he started grooming Draco's ears, an almost inaudible purr coming from his throat as he waited for the boy to tell him what had been going on lately. He really needed to get out more.
((Hey Fav, do you know which thread I need to get an uncert of Sev, and to get his background cert changed to the Hogwarts Event cert? ))

Sputtering, Draco struggled against Severus. He hated when his uncle tried cleaning him. It was simply embarassing and besides, he was old enough to do that for himself.
"Ugh, let GO!" Draco pulled himself from his grasp and quickly moved out of the reach of his eager to clean uncle. "I can clean myself if I need to. Besides, I'll just get dirty again from the lessons." he scowled at him. "And I was late because of some nouissance Tae that got in my way. I showed him who was boss though. He won't get in my way again." Draco lied. He didn't want Severus to know that he had just simply slept too late. What kind of excuse was that?
"Anyway, I'm here now, so what kind of lessons do you have for me today?"
((Sorry it's so short. sweatdrop ))

Severus frowned, listening to his now semi-clean nephew give a lame excuse. He knew the boy well enough to know that the sleepy, not quite there look in his eyes meant he'd slept in. Did Draco honestly think that Severus was that stupid? He hoped not. He really, really did, because if Draco did....well, he was highly underestimating his tutor. With a bored yawn and a strech of his own, Severus went to grooming his paw as his deep, black, near-black hole eyes sucked in everything around him, just watching. Observing everything with quiet contemplation, he wondered if there WAS anyone around besides himself to spar with Draco, or if the boy would ever find a Tae that was right for him. Severus certainly pinned high hopes on the young Tae, since he had no hopes of finding a mate for himself. With a frown, he decided the time for thoughts was over momentarily, and the time to teach was nigh.
"Today, we're sparring. I think your father and I have taught you enough manners to get you through life for the most part. But when you have a family there may come a time when you need to defend them. Your teeth and claws are important, but you MUST keep your wits about you. Placment and timing is key, little dragon," he purred, almost affectionately, but not quite. It still held that icy tone that only Severus seemed to be able to manage even at the best of times. Pacing back and forth in front of Draco, he nodded to himself, swishing his tail back and forth as if to make his point.
"You must always gauge the situation around you, Draco. Use your surroundings to your advantage....such as this," he directed, sprinting to the wall of his little cavern-like home fast as a bullet and using his claws to get friction on the walls so he could run partially up and across them until he was almost behind Draco, then pouncing off them with his hind legs and landing on Draco, pinning the boy, his claws extended and on the boy's throat. Giving him a smug look, he leaned down to make his point. "And NEVER assume that someone is a friend and won't attack you. Many a time I've had to fend off Tae's that I thought were companions, but turned out to use that bond to get in a cheap shot or a moment of hesitation."

Draco's eyes followed his tutor but he was much to slow to move out of the way of the elder as he pounced him, and found himself quickly lying on the floor underneath Severus. He let out a great "umph" as he landed and once the other Tae's paw was at his throat, he gulped, and held his breath.
With his nose just centimeters from Severus', he cringed slightly, but spoke. "Point taken. I just need to keep the upper hand at all times. That's not so hard." A sly grin came over his face, and with his back legs, he pushed at Severus to try and flip him off, but not realizing that he was much too heavy for him to do so. He pushed a little harder but still didn't budge him. He gave up and lay there.
"So, what do I do if I end up like this?" he asked his uncle curtly. He was starting to get annoyed that he was still laying there pinned by his much older uncle. He had too much confidence in his youthfulness to give him an upper paw.
