⋘Character Guidelines⋙
☆═━┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈━═☆
Once someone has “claimed” a character then that character is taken, unless you can present some clear reasons why [insert canon here] would have two children via different parents or you’ve worked something out with the person roleplaying [x] so you’re siblings or half-siblings, or something--- but some logical communication needs to take place.
Please post character profiles in the Characters in Waiting section, I’m going to assume you’re all big boys and girls and can handle that yourselves without a template from me. The more I know about your character the more plot I will be able to pull when things start to slow down, fail, or otherwise go South, and he more I will be able to do to make this more fun for you and everyone else.
If your character is registered via the government, has a criminal record, or other information that would be accessible through government intelligence make sure I am aware of it because the Stark family is looking in your closet for a lot more than skeletons. Also, I do need to understand what your characters powers/abilities/training is just to make sure we have some balance around here.
If you want a character template, you can use this but (by no means) are you required to do so... this is my personal character template I use for my characters:
×[Name] ×[Concept] ×[Age] ×[Sex] ×[Hair/Eye Color] ×[Height/Weight] ×[Description] ×[Personality] ×[History] ×[Family] ×[Other] ×[Roleplaying Notes]
Profiles should be well thought out and have content. Powers should be explained and make sense for the character, please refer to the 'Too Powerful' info below. If I don't have a good understanding of your character, I can't approve them.

⋘"Too Powerful"/Character Powers⋙
☆═━┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈━═☆
Lead by Example Too Powerful
+ Characters have to be fair in a group/guild roleplaying set-up.
+ All the characters need to be able to function in a group setting.
+ Marvel Universe breeds powerful characters, powerful characters breed powerful children. How do I remain realistic to my characters heritage but keep the character game friendly?
I recommend- Start small. You can gain more powers/strengths and refined your powers/strengths throughout the story. During the story your character can gain armor, weapons, vehicles, or upgrades to existing items, powers, talents, etc. You don’t have to have everything at page one.
For every major strength you give your characters, take a realistic weakness that works with the characters history and personality (don’t just plug in random weaknesses). Also, combine with point 1. Example: “Character can control and manipulate natural elements.” This is too powerful. Instead have the character enter the game with the power to control and manipulate only one element, lets say lightning. Knowing her father was a master of the elements she knows that she, too, will be one in time. Her next goal is to master wind. Yet, she still faces problems whenever she summons lightning too quickly and with too much force (overexertion). She had severely burned the ends of her fingers in the past, stuck with a long recovery time and intense pain whenever she used her powers before the healing was complete.
Pick and choose. Sometimes its just too much. Sometimes you just have to narrow it down and can’t have everything you’d like. Try to consider the characters personality, age, and experience. Also be aware that age does not automatically equal experience. If the character is prone to anger and young this is a situation where that character having a lot of powers would have a much higher chance of being a negative force for other characters. If you pile on a bunch of powers on a recluse, shy person who would never think to use them and may not even know how--- the possibility those powers will be used abusively is nonexistent. These things will be considered.
The experience of the player also is a big factor in how powerful their character can be. If you are a new roleplayer, you should create a more modest character. If you are a long time roleplayer, you have a lot more “points” to play with.
In the end, The storyteller, game master, character approve-r, etc reserves the right to say no. I personally believe in an open community and will help you to create a character if you want to join but its up to you to co-operate with me and not post one-liners. Despite this there has to be standards. I choose to explain why I deny aspects of someone’s character and I also give alternatives and ideas. This is not required any anyone else who may be approving profiles, it is what I personally choose to do.
CANONS- Certain canon characters in the Marvel Universe are simply too powerful and will not be allowed to enter the game, certain times as well will not be allowed in the game because they are too powerful. Lead by Example is met to be a next generation roleplay, where the children of canons are the main focus (your originals characters). If a canon character needs to make an appearance in the story who is on the “no no” list, said-canon will be written by the storyteller or another staff member or someone approved to play that character. However, they will not be allowed as a permanent character in the group. On this same thought, certain canons can be approved with altered powers. However, as stated above, I highly encourage you to play the child of, family member of, adopted kid, student, friend, -something- of a canon character instead of the canon character.
Restricted List [x] Infinity Gems [x] Franklin Richards [x] Valeria Richards (Marvel Girl version) [x] Iron Man Technology [x] The Phoenix [x] All & Any Cosmic Beings [x] Captain America (because he's dead in Lead by Example, the kind of dead where you don't come back)
