3/03/07 - Hey everyone! We have some new members. I plan on making a recruiting thread in the Register Guilds Forum soon. Also, if anyone has some time to make banners I'll post them somewhere in this thread so people can put them in their signatures, in the meantime I will try and make some creative ones!
2/27/07 - Opening of the guild and crazy organization/posting by myself and akukei. Bare with us.

Rules:
1. This Guild still HAS to follow Gaia Terms of Service as well as their Rules & Guidelines
arrow Anyone breaking them will be banned immediately. It puts the whole guild at risk of being shut down.
2. Be respectful
arrow This is a critiquing guild, but realize flaming peoples work will not help them make it better. Make serious suggestions without being unnecessarily harsh.
3. Learn to Search
arrow To try and prevent repeat topics from appearing and cluttering the guild forums up please look to see if someone has already started a thread with your idea. If you cannot find one, then by all means enlighten us, but if you have found a thread on the same topic add to it, don't post it again.
4. Post in the Appropriate Place
arrow Granted right now there is only one place to post, soon we will have subforums in which will have specific things to post about. Please try and be aware of your location as you make threads.
5. Bumping/Spamming
arrow This is a guild not the chatterbox. Bumping is really unnecessary unless for some reason your topic has fallen from the first page. Then you are allowed, but please no excess bumping. Spamming is just stupid. Please don't do it in this guild.
6. Attempt to Use Proper English
arrow This is a writing guild after all. I understand some people like to use quick phrases which is fine, just keep them to a minimum. I am by no means claiming to have wonderful grammar (actually it sucks) but try to the best of your ability.
7. Page Stretching
arrow Pet Peeve of mine. Don't do it! scream
8. Participation
arrow Please participate. It is the point of a guild, to give you personal and individual interaction with many people of common interest. Our rule of thumb is, if you don't post something, anything for more than a couple weeks we will kick you out (unless you give us prior notice that you are won't be around, just contact me (Tsuta) or Akukei before hand). It is our right to boot you for inactivity.
9. Plagiarism
arrow Please do not do this. It is a serious offense.
Dictionary.com Plagiarism is the unauthorized use or close imitation of the language and thoughts of another author and the representation of them as one's own original work. As a writing guild this is a serious matter. It is stated in the Gaia T.O.S. you are not allowed to post copyrighted material. If you have something from a book you would like to share you must cite it. If you don't it is considered plagiarism. If you do not know how to cite then go to one of the sites below: NoodleTools KnightCite
Also, do not take any of another members work and claim it as your own! If you are caught doing so you will be banned and reported! scream Many people work hard at writing taking their work and making it your own is a NO-NO.
For more information about Plagiarism go here.
If you do not understand any of these rules or feel we have left something out that is important please contact me (Tsuta) or Akukei.
Thank you, enjoy the Guild.

Staff Profiles
Captain:

Username: Tsuta [Em]
Age: 19
Location: NY State (not the god damn city!)
Reason for joining: Uh I co-own it xd I didn't have a choice of joining. Ha ha. I love writing and need critiquing on my work.
What you expect: Hopefully some constructive criticism by seriously interested members. 3nodding Also a place to build relationships with people and not have it be so "kthxbye." sweatdrop if you understand what I mean?
What your enjoy writing/reading: I generally write high school romances or romance in general. I love reading fantasy, romance, and mythology.
Random information: I have a Quaker Parrot named Calhoun and he is my pride and joy! Don't ask him about me unless you want to hear a mother gushing over her baby. He talks and bites and loves me! whee Here are a couple pictures of him!!! [x][x]
Vice Captain:

Username: Akukei - [Michelle]
Age: 16
Location: Australia
Favorite book/series: The His Dark Materials series, by Philip Pullman
Hobbies, other than writing & reading: Photography [traditional and photo manipulation], Painting, Lucid Dreaming
Reason for joining: To put it simply, I created this guild alongside Tsuta because I have a passion for writing. To me, this guild is a chance to create a close and active community of writers who will come to forge friendships and help further their writing.
What you expect: To be honest I'm not sure what to expect from this. What I'm hoping, is to meet people with similar interests to myself, and be part of an active writing community. I hope to be able to help people overcome writing problems and achieve their goals as well as to achieve my own personal goals as a part of our guild.
What your enjoy writing/reading: I enjoy reading in general - particularly fantasy if its reading for leisure. I also love to read up background information for anything I write - which is generally non-fiction of all varieties. I mostly write fantasy novels (or at least long stories), however I'm hoping to also improve my poetry skills.
Current Crew: None

FAQs
Q: Who is Besotted Writers' Guild for? A: We are "obsessed writers." It is people who enjoy writing as a hobby or otherwise. Open to anyone, whether you would like to share your work or not. We encourage sharing though.
Q: What is the purpose? A: As stated above it is a place to share your work, hopefully get valuable critiquing, have fun, discuss topics of many kinds, and make new friends. whee
Q: Why aren't there any subforums!? gonk A: Subforums are 2500 gold to make. We are limited in funds currently (starting a guild is more than chump change!). However, as soon as we get enough members/donations and have the amount needed we will start using the Guild Funds to make subforums (in order of the user's popularity requests found in this Thread). For more information see the Donation Sticky.
Q: I want someone to join the guild but I can't send them a invite. What do I do? A: Tell either me or akukei and we can send them an invite or give them the link to this guild and tell them to request to join 3nodding
Q: I'm not a writer can I still join? A: Sure! Even if you don't write you can add to discussions and read other peoples work. It is really open to those who enjoy the written arts!
Just ask something if you don't know, I can't think of anything else.
