Alrighty Fellers and Fillies, seeing as we've started to get this show on the road (again), I figured we'd need a thread to actually put our ideas down that wasn't cluttering the OOC Thread and use it as a checklist.Once something has been completed or is good enough to be used, one of us will change the status to [Complete]. The Status of a goal (along with side questions will be put in bold the Current Ideas Section for that goal will be Italicized and Suggestions will be underlined. Links will be...well, links.

Mind you anyone can offer up ideas, this isn't just up to our Captain and ourselves (Vice Captains, the Crew, all that.). If there's something else that needs to be worked on, feel free to bring it up!

With all this said...

Storyline Ideas

Just as it says on the tin, this is just the stuff to add to our ideas right now to add to a better storyline to bring people in better.

- COMPLETE: Explain Technological Level better.


Current ideas for: Technology.

Done by Kiedara as a small story to serve as our guideline. The rest can be seen for ourselves as we write.

- COMPLETE: Make the list of important NPCs who will be DM'd by Moderators to advance the story when needed...and to prevent important people being controlled by the normal players...no offense, guys.

Current ideas for: NPC List.

We've got Leonidas. His RPer can work on Lieutenants. Any other important figures will be played by either that group's leader or a crewmember varying on their story importance.

- Done for now.: Group Locations.

One group will obviously be continuing from Imil, containing (so far) Maewen, Rayl, and Saito.

The other group in Lemuria seems to be going still.

At least one and at most TWO groups can start in the Tournament at Flint, either watching, selling things, exploring, Competing what have you. To get them into the groups and onto their adventure we have to decide what would cause the disturbance in the Tournament.

Numerous ideas for their 'call to adventure':

-Attempted Assassination after/before the Tournament.

-Attempted Assassination DURING the Tournament

- A Kidnapping at some point before/during/after of someone/something important to the king.

We've got great background so far, just need to flesh it out more in the modern time so that multiple groups can get going without too much stuttering and problems.

Current ideas for: Groups.

Each Hero group can have no more than four people per, one of each element, and will at the beginning start in different places, but may run into each other, seperate, form together, swap group mates, Et Cetera. We'll make a sign-up List in a separate thread, to be made after we decide where each group starts (We know we'll have one in Imil and another in Lemuria.). Each of these groups should PROBABLY be headed by Kiro, any of us Vice Captains, or by a Crew Member so that they can advance the group if they find themselves stuck in a rut of some sort.

Villain characters will presumably be starting out stronger than heroes, the caliber of which is unknown, amongst other things to be discussed...Also to discuss is whether we should have PC Villains at all. Also: How many characters should each person be allowed to have? (I vote one.)

- COMPLETE/b]: Clean up Shop:

Current ideas for: Cleaning up Shop.

Remove threads that are no longer needed, or move them somewhere else for posterity. Get rid of some clutter and potentially organize things better, if necessary. We could potentially have extra sub categories for other Aspects of the guild if needed, to prevent any other clutter.

Suggestion: Why not make a separate Sub-Category for all things Rule Related? This would include the Rules, Creative License Thread, Profile Sheet, and similar threads, just in general to prevent the landing page from being crowded, seeing as it's our discussion and chitchat section...and kinda messy. We could entitle it: Instruction Manual (Rules and Profile Sheet.).

Suggestion: Might I also suggest moving the Current Events thread over to the Main Story Sub-Category?

- COMPLETE/ONGOING: How would summons work here, anyways?

The Idea behind:
Summons.

After a summon, a Djinn is "winded" or "tired" and has to take a break before it can be used again to bolster stats, or be set etc. Takes lots of magical power to unleash deities and spirits and such... Wears the little guys out.

Make a list of allowed Summons, and potentially guild created summons for plot points or what have you.

- COMPLETE?: A power level and some basic numbers will be mandated, with the option for more reference purposes.

Ryugi's Idea For: Stats.

Stats should be limited to mostly level denoting power level, Psynergy List, Special Equipment, and Djinn.

Boxy's Side Comment: In regards to custom psynergy: Should we make a thread for the guild made ones?

-WIP: Recruitment Campaign.

Current ideas for:Recruitment Campaign.

Bringing people here from a guild recruitment thread on the forums. Have links to important threads, and have the group sign up sheet included up there to be kept as up to date as possible with the group sign up sheet on the guild (see above idea.)

- -ONGOING: Activity.

Current ideas for: Activity.

We're already working on trying to bring back as many of the old group as we can, but we should possibly remove people who do not respond to any other 'Shout Out Announcements' We give out. We should also get on people's cases a bit more when necessary if they are not posting without some sort of reason, though seeing as things happen and all give a period of a month or so....Someone else explain this I'm bad at it. <_<;

Group: I agree with the first group idea of being headed by crew members of some sort. But what about a sub-category of "Group Leaders and Groups"? Each group leader has their own thread, and they add group members (1 of each element) via request or wherever they are in the story.

Summons: Maybe after summons the Djinn involved get knocked out for a few posts? Explanation of the game concepts would be another good sub-category.

Recruitment Campaign: My only suggestion for this would be to make a lot of different banners and ask people to put them in their signature.

In regards to your group suggestion:

That is actually the plan. Initially Each group starts in a different place, And we'll have the sign up sheet for the groups themselves (Ex. Kiedara will head one group, Kiro another.). Each group can meet and mingle at some point, though will probably be mostly apart from one another until some grand final conflict or when deemed necessary to start merging.

...still dunno about summons, myself.

Groups - Groups are formed by 4 people, one person of each element. Each group has a single person designated as the "Leader." This can be a person in the crew position, or someone voted into the position.

Bad Guys - If they're a main antagonist, like Saturos or Menardi, they need to be capable of taking on a party of four on equal terms (if they travel alone) or a party of two (if they travel in a pair). They should have gear, powers, and maybe even Djinni to match those lopsided numbers, so if they get into a fight with the good guys, it's more or less an even fight, but one wrong move will put someone in a bad way. If they aren't main antagonists, and are simply people who aren't very nice, they should be equal to any other character among the good guys. That leaves the possibility open for "Bad Guy Parties" who follow their own agenda as a group, separate from the main bad guys (unless they're hired by the bad guys - ooh, plot points), rather than one large evil force.

Stats - Stats are not necessary to RP. They are, however, important to combat. At least, I suggest we tell people to list the LEVEL of their character to determine their rough power level, list their PSYNERGY SPELLS so they don't just toss around whatever they want, and explain any SPECIAL EQUIPMENT that isn't standard issue. In addition, if they have DJINN, they need to list their names, their elements, and what they do so people don't just make that stuff up either.

As far as technology goes, it didn't come up much because Imil was relatively primitive/just coming into a more modern technological profile at the beginning of the old story so there wasn't much beyond Mael's shenanigans.

Summons are cool, as far as their impact on battle, seems easiest just to treat them like extra powerful spells, with the added cool down for djinn recovery as was already stated.

Groups- What if groups weren't restricted to one of each element? DMs could use elemental strengths or weaknesses of lopsided groups as plot/path drivers. i.e. a group lacking a water adept would have to either approach a water based juncture creatively if they want to go one route, or would otherwise be forced to take an alternate route say in fleeing or in pursuit of a group that does have a water adept. Beyond that point, just how many groups are we expecting o.o?

stats- I realize now that it may not be necessary to have all stats represented in a stat sheet for characters, and for some RPers that may be overly complicated. I like having and being able to look at and/or cite numbers for references, but it's not a necessary element if it gives trouble to some people. As Ryugi mentioned, level as a minimum requirement is likely, as far as numeric stats go, the simplest effective approach (Occam's razor swoops in for the kill).

Bad Guys- my only comments on this one are: the importance on being able to recognize main bad guys and minor villains from in-RP clues, and the question of how to treat antagonist activities relative to the RP-RPer interface. That is, will antagonists' movements be discussed/planned by DM and crew behind the scenes and then hinted at within one or more heroes' threads, or will the Bad guys have a story of their own to follow (perhaps on a time delay so as not to spoil anything)?

Fleshing out the 'now' - the Fliit fighting tournament is practically unused so far, so that seems like a good spot to have one starting point. Imil would be another since a few of our characters' biographies lead them to start out there by default, though, perhaps instead of necessarily throwing out everything from the previous thread, we could pick up a group or two leaving those events, or some variation of them. In a sense, that would give at least one, maybe two groups, and immediate purpose or goal to help guide where the story leads from there. Leumeria as a starting point for another group would work as well, though it's up for debate whether to treat the events that happened there in the old RP similarly to Imil or not. That gives three starting points for groups.

Technology: Probably should form a separate thread for this one...I'll set up a thread soon on that.

Recruitment: Should focus on getting the story together and everything else before we work on the recruitment, where we'll have a sign up sheet as well.

Groups: The reason why I haven't come up with any numbers is that we don't know who's returning besides Myself, Ryugi, Kiyo, Kied, Ukyo, and our new friend Jenny, which gives us Six. Four people per group that gives us one and a half...and we don't know how many people we WILL in fact have...Though I assume we'll have Three to Four 'hero groups' if lucky.

Suggestion: We could have the person leading the group decide who they want in the group (Kied's group could allow four of any element adepts, Kiyo's could be one of each, ETC.).

Suggestion: Seeing as Ryugi will probably keep his character, he could be DMing Lemuria, Kied would be leading the group in Imil, Kiyo could possibly start a group in Flint as it's preparing the tournament or something...dunno. We have to work on the story before we can really assemble the groups properly. ._."



Bad Guys: I don't even know if we would garner enough people FOR Player Bad Guys, which is WHY I presumed we'd keep Leonidas as our Main Bad, and have NPC "Lieutenants" of his about...and I assume his overarching intentions would be Eluded to by DMing as the Roleplay goes forth.

If we DO have Player Bad Guys, we'd probably have to set limits (a separate sign up sheet) on who would be a direct 'Lieutenant' of Leonidas (Probably four.), and other villain characters being at the starting level of everyone else (I assume that starting level is still 10.)

Summons: Marked summons as complete. I'll add that to the Creative License thread. :3

Fleshing out the 'Now': Concerning not restarting the whole thing...

Actually reading past stuff! A first, I know: We could just time skip ahead of the whole Mercury Lighthouse, decide what happened up there, and have the group (of who's actually left ._.) head out from there with an immediate purpose of stopping Leonidas from doing such and such. Assuming Arky does not return that would probably leave only Maewen, Saito, and Rayl in terms of people of the group still here (Kied, Kiyo, and myself)...leaving room for Arky (Who I sent a message to at 12:18 Am Pacific Time on this day.) if he DOES show up.

The Lemuria group, from the looks of it would so far have Ryugi, PreToria, and Leylia...as to what would happen to cause them to unite...I dunno, maybe one of Leonidas' top men are there after something...we'll work on that.

Side Note I forget if Ryugi said he was keeping his namesake character or was going to use Saiya (or whatever the name was. ;P), or if Ukyo was keeping PreToria...but yeah. anyways.


SuggestionWe could from there flesh out the Flint - Takaou rivalry, which would STILL be tense even though the situation ended Twenty Five years ago...I mean, the two king's sons were mysteriously murdered and all...probably blaming each other. I'm sure we could come up with SOME reason for Leonidas to decide starting a war between the two is a good idea, besides the 'I'm evil muahahaha' part being a good idea...Need to flesh him out more. I assume he wants more souls for something, and a war is a good way to mass produce them...I vote he's trying to summon Cthulu to eat us. (That was a joke...but the war part wasn't.).

Thus we COULD have the tournament starting, and the fighters are staying at Castle Flint, where one of Leonidas' Lieutenants sneaks in to kidnap someone close to the King (daughter perhaps), leaving a pendant belonging to a soldier of Takaou, starting a war between the two...this could lead to four of the fighters (a hero group) banding together to find the Lieutenant and bring them to justice within a certain time or Flint's king will go to war with Takaou....kinda stereotypical but hey- sue me. (don't really, please.)

That gives us Three groups or twelve heroes...We should DM Leonidas, but we could have Three Lieutenants that are PCs, thus having a 'Villain' Group

Cleaning up Shop: I still vote we make a separate section for the Rules, Creative License, and other related threads (labeling it Instruction Manual or something.), and put the Background Story and Current Events in the main story...the landing forum is kinda our chit chat section. rofl

Groups: As a recap it seems we have two groups firmly formed. There's the Imil one that already contains three people who already have a goal, and then there is the four people who join the fighting tournament for Flint-Takaou.

In my opinion this seems something that Ryugi as a character would join, so he could head the tournament group. I presume that since the world has gotten more technologically advanced (thus weaponry has evolved to match.), the tournament is a psynergy duel between opponents and/or uses 'traditional weaponry', so swords and the sort.

Mael won't be rejoining us, however the idea of a non-elemental character, perhaps as an antagonist, is appealing to me. Such a character would be easy to write a motive for, a reoccurring brigand or the such resenting adepts for having power he or she can't have, etc.

If this is indeed a reboot, Ryugi can go where he's needed, and I'll FIND a reason for him to be there.

A fighting tournament is certainly a place Ryugi would be. Traveling costs money, after all, and a prize pot could help him.

I can think of many different ways to insert Leylia in somewhere random... I have a bad habit of sticking my nose into everything I can.

Also: Once I get some extra time on my hands, I can look over the storyline thread and see if I can make a short summary of what's going on in each part. I could probably put together a graphic of some sort too.

groups: I think we have the mechanism down and we have two proposed starting group areas, three people in the Imil and Three starting in the Flint-Takaou, though we COULD have two groups start there since, well...It's a friggin tournament! Considering we have six people confirmed to be here that leaves two people to invite for those hero groups, so I'd assume we want a third/fourth for more people.

Antagonists/NPC List: I'd like having a re-occuring non adept bad guy, though I'd assume Leonidas is still our "Big Bad', especially considering we are keeping some things that happened, mostly in the Imil thread from the looks of it.

Stats: We'll lower that just to be Power Level, but we'll still allow the option for big blarring numbers if people would like to be more details and what have you.

Story: I dunno...so...shoot!

Also, we should choose whether to keep or toss out what I wrote to start out the fliit group or not; if you recall, the setting started out as a tournament, but the King's assassination at the hands of an adept sent the city into turmoil and the party was opened for characters to jump into figuring out how to deal with angry mobs.

Flint Group(s): I think we should allow the tournament to start for awhile so our group or two there can kind of get to know each other between and maybe during battles between each other if they are competing in it *don't have to be*, and THEN either decide the King to be assassinated, or to come up with something else...potentially our non-adept friend who-we-haven't-made-yet does that kidnapping idea I had earlier.
